this work was actually a painting done during grad school. i had the idea at one point that it might merit some reworking, though the painting remained untouched for about 8 years. the original image had the birds and the rectangle with the clouds in the roughly the same position. the birds and clouds were repainted fom a looser, more symbolic representation to what you see here. the background also changed significantly with the addition of the plant form.
